In 1965 around 170 zelkova (keyaki) were planted along approx. 1km stretch from the Osaka central loop line (Osaka Chuo Kanjo Sen) to the Yamatotakada line, with the intention of making the street more appealing. When the leaves change color in the fall, you can experience a veritable tunnel of crimson trees.
