Thought to have been built in 1615, immediately after the entire town was razed to the ground in the summer campaign at Osaka Castle, this is a now very rare remaining example of an Edo-period townhouse. A national Important Cultural Property, here you can feel what it would have been like to live in a traditional Sakai home of the period. It features a tea room, a quaint garden and a storehouse. Located in the old city, the tram runs nearby.
