A hexagonal lighthouse standing 11.3 meters tall, completed in 1977 and located on old Sakai Harbor's southern seawall. After closing due to the progression of reclamation of land from the sea, it remains today as one of the symbols of the city and has been designated a national historic site in recognition of its status as one of Japan's oldest wooden Western-style lighthouses. There is the old Sakai Harbor and the Princess Otohime Statue in the vicinity.
