This park got its start in the 15th - 16th century, when Sakai merchants defended the town by using the sea to the west and then digging moats along the three other directions. This park stands along roads that were buried once, dug up again at the start of the Edo period, and then buried again after the war. There are two all-weather hard tennis courts here, which can be used for both soft and regular tennis, and also playground equipment for children.
