This tatami (Japanese traditional flooring mats) shop in Sakai was founded by Shunji Ooe and later passed on to the second-generation owner, Toshiyuki Ooe. It manufactures tatami, sells tatami in retail, produces tatami, and operates the Ooe Tatami Show Room, which conveys nationally and internationally the unique potential of tatami as a Japanese flooring material. Ooe Tatami continues to preserve the traditional tatami culture while exploring a new tatami culture in view of new horizons.
