Information regarding the movie Parallel and Perpendicular has been officially released today!

This film is a moving human drama set to be the highlight of the summer. Shota Yasuda participated from the initial planning stages, driven by his desire to “deliver the message of this work,” and stars alongside Non in the lead roles.

The film is directed by Shotaro Kobayashi (originally from Osaka Prefecture), known for works such as Mainichi Kaasan and Maestro!

The story is set right here in Sakai City, Osaka, with filming taking place at various locations throughout the city.

■ Story
Daiki, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and his younger sister Nozomi, who has supported him since childhood. Having lost their mother at a young age and distanced themselves from their neglectful father, the siblings have lived their lives together with everything they have.

Daiki rarely speaks, and his facial expressions appear to change very little. Aiming for independence from his group home, he has started living on his own, following his own unique set of rules. He is incredibly meticulous, insisting that everything be aligned perfectly in “parallel and perpendicular” lines, even carefully arranging the tableware on his desk. His weekly dinner with Nozomi is strictly set for 19:00; even a one-minute delay makes him restless.

Nozomi, who works as a counselor, receives a marriage proposal from her boyfriend. Harboring a touch of anxiety, she decides to go to Tokyo with her brother to meet her fiancé’s parents…。
